The Lunar New Year falls on February 16th this year, and China grinds to a halt for 2-3weeks as all 1.42 billion people in this country gather with their families and friends to usher in the year of the dog. The dog ranks as the eleventh (out of twelve) animal in Chinese zodiac. Where each animal carries a particular set of traits and nature, the dog is the symbol of loyalty and honesty. If you are born in 1934/ 1946/ 1958/ 1970/ 1982/ 1994/ 2006, you are "born in the year of the dog". While your first instinct may be to believe that the Year of the Dog means that this is going to be an epic and amazing year, Chinese culture actually states that your year is going to be one of the least lucky in the current 12-year cycle. Too quick to trust others, the dog may find that others have taken advantage of their blind spot throughout the year. In order to come out ahead, the dog must take the time for introspection and self-awareness.
