One would think a simple one-colour bottle-opener with a one-colour print would be easy to produce right? Wrong. When the entire product carries just that one colour, especially when it's the client's company's corporate colour - we want to make sure the colour matches at least 99%, because we understand how important colours are to brand consistency. In the case of these bottle openers, the metallic sheen makes the colour-matching that tad bit more challenging. Printing the exact pantone code provided by our client resulted in a darker shade than expected, and due to the metallic effect, the shade of red appears different at different angles.
After a few rounds of experimentation, we found a tone of red that when printed, gives us our desired colour. A final sample was made and we were finally satisfied with how it matched our client's pantone red. Off to mass-production! Comments are closed.
